Large diversion safes

The largest Safe Stash objects: one, six and nine kilo fire extinguishers, a butane bottle, a five litre barrel and a family-size food jar. Real capacity for documents, cash, tools or anything that does not fit in a pocket.

Small hiding places solve the everyday: a note, a key, a memory stick. What they cannot take is a passport folder, a tablet, a hard drive, a jewellery box or the folder with the deeds and the insurance. These are the same idea at a size that holds the things people actually worry about.

What fits inside

The extinguishers and the barrel take documents folded once, a tablet, a hard drive, several jewellery boxes or a full document wallet. The butane bottle takes bulk: cash in quantity, tools, a bag of equipment. The food jar sits on a kitchen shelf and still swallows a passport and a roll of notes. Each product page gives the outside dimensions and the usable compartment separately, because the two are never the same. Measure what you want to store before ordering.

Where a large object belongs

Size is the one thing that can give a big container away, so the room has to justify it. An extinguisher belongs in a hall, a garage, a workshop, a boat or a van, where nobody would think twice about it and nobody has a reason to move it. A butane bottle belongs on a terrace, in a store room or under a counter. A five litre barrel belongs on a shelf with the paint and the oil. A food jar belongs in the kitchen, among the other jars.

Large formats also have an advantage the small ones do not: they are heavy and awkward, and nobody walks off with one casually. A jewellery box fits under an arm. A nine kilo extinguisher does not.

Why the big formats work

Because they read as fixtures rather than as luggage. Somebody going through a home in a hurry is looking for what can be lifted and carried: drawers, boxes, bags, the bedside table. An extinguisher on the wall is scenery. It is seen, filed as normal and never touched, which is exactly the treatment you want for the folder with the documents inside.

They are also the sensible answer where a wall safe is not an option: rented flats, business premises with a landlord, workshops, boats and vans. Nothing is drilled and nothing is fixed, and it comes with you when you move.

The rest of the range

For the smaller formats, the kitchen and bathroom collections cover the containers that live on a shelf, the car collection covers the glovebox and the boot, the toolbox collection covers the garage, and the pocket collection covers what you carry on you. It is all in the full catalogue, and buying more than one unit applies an automatic discount in the cart.

Made by hand, shipped from Spain

Most Safe Stash objects are assembled by hand once the order comes in, so preparation takes about a week before the parcel leaves. Every order travels in plain, unbranded packaging with a tracking number, to more than fifty countries. Delivery times by destination are in the shipping policy, and the FAQ answers the rest.

These are decorative containers with a concealed compartment, not certified safes: they offer no protection against fire, water or forced entry, and they are intended for the lawful storage of your own belongings. They are supplied empty: the extinguishers contain no extinguishing agent and are not fire-fighting equipment, the bottle and the barrel contain no fuel or liquid, and the food container is not meant to hold food.
